Our Funny Valentines

We had a blast this Valentine's Day! Mom and Dad did the Skirtchasers Race during the day. Dad passed Mom on mile 2, but that was okay! He had a good strong run and looked quite handsome in his Skirtchasers Red Shirt. Mom realized that her IT band is not totally healed and doesn't enjoy getting roughed up. She really thought she was a stud, passing people right and left and keeping a great pace until the last 3/4 of a mile when that old familiar knee pain kicked in. She had to walk some and enjoy all those she passed, passing her by! Humility. Yep!

The rest of the team was home with their cousin, Kristina who babysat. They skipped naps and ate treats with glee! They kept calling and asking us to stay gone longer!

For dinner, we had our fav- Aussie Meat Pies. Not your typical romantic fare, but was the choice of the masses! Kristina stayed for dinner with us, which was fun too!

Each of the kids received a handmade valentine with words or phrases from us about what makes them special to us. Thought we'd share:

Hannah: great laugh. smart. devoted friend. witty. loyal. helpful. raised by wolves. (guess who wrote that one?) crazy. can count on her. graceful. clever little smile.

Tatum: joyful. cares for others. best friend. kind. lovely smile. fun loving. pink, pink, pink! artistic. beautiful. imagination. sings a beautiful song. fairy princess.

Jack: sweet little smile. tough grin. speed! charismatic. charming. Wow! sensitive. handsome guy. kick, bang, boom. makes me think. perceptive. dependable. strong.

Carter: little angel. charmer. quick. sneaky. determined. determined. determined. daring. "Bye!" lovely. dangerous. cool. why not? makes his own path. Vroom! Vroom! flirt.

Our little funny valentines!

Wild about Writing

For Christmas, we received a beautiful hardbound book by Tatum called Wild about Writing. I wanted to share a few excerpts:

Mom Haiku Poem:
My Mom is the best
She loves me no matter what
Cuddle with me Mom

Dad Haiku Poem:
Daddy really rocks
Takes me to Water and Ice
Goes on trips with me

My Future Goals:
When I am in college
I want to get good grades and have a good job.
I want to be a dog trainer, but who knows what I'll be?
I hope I get paid good and give money to my family.
I want to have a dog, Hamster, a cat and two hermit crabs.
