Special Features

Special Features
by Hannah Skogebo

Hello. I’m writing to tell you about the “Special Features” that you won’t see in the day-by-day blog. Caution: They will be funny. These posts will not be in any order, so you will have to search for them in the blogs.

Post One:
Jack has found the dust buster and thinks it will “power” all of the bad guys. He usually says, “Tatum! You be the bad guy and I “power” you with my “gum.” OK Tatum?” He also wanted to put on Mommy’s eyeliner. Mom said, little boys don’t wear eyeliner. And you know what Jack says? I not a little boy, Mommy! I a big boy. So he thought, Oh so I can wear it! Mom says Jack, Daddy doesn’t wear eyeliner. Oh, says Jack, Ok Mommy, and leaves the room. We have figured out that he also dreads getting his picture taken.

Hello. Here is my 2nd post for “Special Features” things that you won’t see in the regular blog. Remember: These will not be in any order so you will have to search for them in the blogs.

Post Two:
We stopped at a scenic site (what else do you call it?) and took a couple of pictures. Jack, Dad, and I were in the motor home and Jack asked Dad, Daddy, are we leaving the girls here? Dad says, no, they’re gonna get back on. Jack said, but Daddy, I wanna drive with just Daddy. Jack, we have to pick them up. No Daddy. Yes. No. Yes. Oh Ok Dad. Tatum and Jack got cowboy clothes and now they play cowboy and cowgirl. Jack has a vest, cowboy hat, chaps, and a gun that shoots a little thing with a suction cup to stick to the mirror and make a mess, Tatum has a vest, cowgirl hat, and boots, all pink. I’m not surprised.

Hey Skogebos:
WOW!!! What a trip you are having. I just heard some couple in the elevator in Terminal 4 yesterday talking about how they saw snow at Yellowstone. Everything must be so beautiful and green compared to our dry desert.
We found out Chelsea is quite the spit fire. Twinkie (Kim's dog) came over on Friday last week and she had been growling at Chelsea since she got here. Then I guess Chelsea had enough of Twinkie's shinanigans and went for the jugular on her! I literally had to lift her off Twinkie with my foot. I was afaid if I picked her up she might bite me. Anyway, Twinkie and Chelsea don't like each other but are tolerating one another - Twinkie goes home today....:)
Alma says she hopes you're not due back until Friday because she needs that much time to clean your house! Yikes :(!!! Should we leave Chelsea in your back yard late Friday afternoon? When is your ETA? Anyway, thank you for taking us with you on your trip - it has been fun keeping up with you! We miss you guys!
Love,
Cindy & the rest of the Thurbers and Dogs

I am in stitches with every post. I feel like I got to go on a vacation too...just not the actual freezing excitement or no new winter wear with yellowstone embroidered on it. Thanks for sharing it all. We were waiting for you to get out of the black hole. It makes you wonder how we did vacation in the old days. Leave for a trip and return to tell the adventures. We had to hope that all is well and wait for your return. I like this better. The pictures are wonderful too. What a happy family! We miss you all and can't wait to see you. I can call Alma to see that the swim wear is ready for you. You won't be needing the beanies and gloves that is for sure.
Lots of love!
Julie
